How to Embed Whimsical in Notion
To embed Whimsical in Notion, open the board and go to Share, then Embed, set the access you want, and copy the embed link Whimsical generates. How to embed Whimsical in Notion
Create a public share link in Whimsical
Open the board, click Share, then Embed. Choose public access if people outside your workspace need to see it, or leave it private if every reader is signed in to your Whimsical workspace.
Copy the link
Copy the embed link Whimsical generates rather than the address in your browser bar. The browser URL is your editing link and will not behave the same for other people.
Paste it into Notion
Type /embed on your Notion page, press Enter, paste the link, and click "Embed link". The board loads in the block.
Check it as a stranger would
Open the Notion page in a private browser window. This is the fastest way to catch a sharing setting that looks correct from your own logged-in session but blocks everyone else.
Good to know
- A private embed only renders for people signed in to your Whimsical workspace. Anyone outside it sees a permission screen, and Whimsical notes private embeds do not work in desktop applications.
- The embed is view-only unless you deliberately shared the board with edit access, which also lets any reader change it.
- Detailed flowcharts become hard to read once scaled into a Notion block, so wide boards need a full-width block.
- A public link is public. Anyone who gets the URL can open the board, whether or not they can see your Notion page.
