How to Embed a Canva Design in Notion
To embed a Canva design in Notion, open the design and click Share → ... More → Embed, then copy the Smart embed link. Paste it onto a Notion page and choose "Create embed". Canva is one of Notion's officially supported connections, so the design renders inline — and for multi-page designs and presentations, viewers can page through it without leaving Notion. Don't copy the HTML embed code; Notion needs the link.

How to embed Canva in Notion
Open the design and click Share
In Canva, open the design you want to show and click Share in the top-right corner.
Find Embed under "More"
Scroll to the bottom of the Share menu and click "... More", then choose Embed. Canva presents two things: a Smart embed link and an HTML embed code.
Copy the Smart embed link — not the HTML
Take the Smart embed link. The HTML code below it is an <iframe> for websites, and Notion's embed block only accepts URLs, so pasting it produces plain text rather than a design.
Paste it into Notion and choose Create embed
Paste the link on a Notion page. In the menu that appears, select "Create embed" (not "Paste as bookmark", which gives you a link card instead of the design). You can also type /embed first and paste into the block.
Resize to the design's aspect ratio
Drag the block handles so the frame matches the design's shape — a 16:9 presentation and a portrait Instagram story need very different block heights, and a mismatched block letterboxes the design with grey padding.

- Generating the embed link makes the design viewable by anyone with that link, whether or not they use Canva.
- The embed is view-only — editing still happens in Canva, though changes show up in the Notion embed automatically.
- Animations and video elements play in the browser version far more reliably than in Notion's mobile apps.
- Designs that use fonts or elements from a paid Canva plan render fine, but downloading them from the embed still follows Canva's licensing.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my Canva link show as a bookmark instead of the design?
You selected "Paste as bookmark" in Notion's paste menu, or you copied the normal share/view link rather than the Smart embed link. Delete the block and repeat with Share → More → Embed, choosing "Create embed" when you paste.
Do viewers need a Canva account to see the embed?
No. The embed link is public, so anyone who can open the Notion page can see the design without signing in to Canva.
Can I embed a multi-page Canva presentation?
Yes. Presentations and multi-page designs embed with working navigation arrows, so readers can click through every slide inside the Notion block.
Does the Notion embed update when I edit the design in Canva?
Yes. The embed points at the live design, so edits appear the next time the Notion page loads. That's the main reason to embed rather than export a PNG.
Can I stop sharing a design I already embedded?
Yes — turn off the public link in Canva's Share settings. The Notion embed will then fail to load, so remove the block too.
